Smart Girl® Records was founded in 2018 by Books (The Girl Called Books) in response to her experiences as a woman singer-songwriter, musician, and producer. More than just a label, Smart Girl® Records was founded to help educate, support, and provide opportunities for women, gender-expansive, youth, and BIPOC artists at every stage of their careers. Having personal values of kindness, curiosity, and creativity, Books, and Smart Girl® Records is seeking to be a safe space to be, and learn to be, your best artist and self.
